Rabbi Mordecai Terebelo began his tenure at Congregation Ahavas Torah Rosh Chodesh Elul 5762. In addition to his regular Rabbinic duties as Posek, Counselor and Advisor, Rabbi Terebelo has made many strides to increase the level of Torah learning for all our community members by increasing the number shiurim given as well as inspiring everyone to devote more time and energy to learning.

\"Photo\"Rabbi Terebelo previously served as the Rav of the Young Israel of Lawrenceville, New Jersey for nine years. With the assistance of national Kiruv organizations such as Partners- in-Torah and National Jewish Outreach Program, Rabbi Terebelo was very successful in reaching out to that community and increasing its overall commitment to a Torah-true lifestyle. Rabbi Terebelo serves as the 5th grade rebbe in the local yeshiva ketanah, Politz Hebrew Acadamy. He previously spent many years teaching Limudai Kodesh classes at Yeshivas Shaarei Tzion in Central New Jersey. Prior to that, he taught Limudai Kodesh for three years at the Bezalel Hebrew Day School of Lakewood, NJ. Rabbi Terebelo has published a number of Torah articles in the Young Israel Viewpoint and Divrei Torah bulletin and has authored a weekly internet Dvar Torah entitled \"A Drop of Dikduk.\" In addition to his weekly sermons and shiurim, he has lectured for Agudath Israel of America at its annual convention, the Jewish Community Center of Mercer County, NJ and the Jewish Student Union of the College of New Jersey. Rabbi Terebelo was born and raised in Detroit, MI. He was educated in Yeshiva Beth Yehudah of Detroit, the Mesivta of Long Beach (and as a result, has maintained a close relationship with its Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Yitzchok Feigelstock, shlita) and Beth Medrash Govoha of Lakewood, NJ. Following his marriage, he continued learning in the Kollel of Beth Medrash Govoha where he received his Semicha from Rav Malkial Kotler in 1987. Rabbi Terebelo has completed the Practical Rabbinic Training Program given by the National Council of Young Israel and theTorah Umesorah Public Speaking Program. He has maintained close relationships with various Poskim, Roshei Yeshiva and Rabbonim with whom he regularly consults on questions of both Halacha and Hashkofa.
